Emery Starsent
Emery was born and raised in an occupied Rabanastre. Her mother, a former member of the royal guard, severed all ties with them once she knew she had a child on the way. Her father was a seamer, and the three of them tried to live an unassuming life. And yet, when Emery was a teenager, her father was conscripted by the imperial army.Her mother often told them stories of a better time, when the air didn't smell of sulfur and there was a seat for everyone at the tavern. His father being taken from him was the spark that lit the fire in him, and he was dead set on making those stories a reality for herself. When she was just barely old enough, they joined the Dalmascan resistance, learning everything she could about conjury to stay beside those who fought the empire head on.On a routine supply mission, Emery and his companions were charged with bringing a large crate of elemental crystals to a trade depot by way of caravan, where it would be used to create various staves and elixirs. Whether it be by internal sabotage or imperial espionage, they were cut off by a force of imperials, brandishing walking weapons: Magitek reapers. The fight was disorganized and messy, and as it drew on, the war machines turned to assaulting the caravan. In an instant, concentrated aether erupted from fractured crystals, causing an explosion that tore the cart apart. Shrapnel and bodies alike rocketed through the air. Emery - and anyone else still alive - recalls little of this time, the aetheric burst tarnishing her mind.The first thing he remembers is waking up feeling sore. Stretched out over a cot made of reeds, he smelled some type of broth. Figuring out how to turn his head again, he saw a small table next to him, with a bowl of something warm. To the right of that, a miqo'te with purple hair and a warm smile...
Lili'a Skydance

✦Apperance: He has taupe brown, freckled skin. The tip of his nose is dark brown. His left eye is a dull orange, while he is partially blind in his right eye, which is paler. He has both male and female miqo'te clan markings. Her hair is plum purple with white streaks. He has a poofy tail and tufted, lynx-like ears.

Lili'a Skydance
Lili'a is the first and only son to Liligan Skygazer and Bru'li of the Dancing Wind. The pair are probably better known as the captain and first mate of the Copper Current - at least, in an age long since passed. When she was a teen, Lili'a followed his parents to a deal along the shores of The Black Shroud. An excitable little thing, she quickly ran off to see what could possible wait for him on land. Unfortunately, such enthusiasm was too much for the merchant's chocobo, and - in an attempt to flee - it scratched Lili'a's face. The rush of adrenaline and the fear shook the little miqo'te so greatly that she hardly stepped offshore again. Since then, he has come to accept that it wasn't the chocobo's fault, nor his really, but that would be many moons in the future.The "simple merchants" aboard the Copper Current found themselves with little breathing room after Admiral Bloefhiswyn implemented strict laws aimed at snuffing out pirates' livelihood. Their child now an adult, and their own grey hairs piling up, Liligan and Bru'li came to the decision to jump ship. They discharged their crew and encouraged them to find new paths for themselves, as the pair would seek to settle down in the Black Shroud.Bru'li had offered Lili'a a place in their new home, but Liligan saw this uprooting as an opportunity for her child to carve out an identity for himself. While he was content living on the ship, Lili'a had always felt restless, like there was something waiting for her out there, but she was always too nervous to take the first step. After much encouragement from her parents, her mom accompanied her to the Carline Canopy, introduced her to Mother Miounne, and started her career as an adventurer.Over the next moon, Lili'a found her footing on solid ground. When he joined the twin adder, she took lessons in lance work, and found it to be far more comfortable than the archery her mother taught her. He dedicated himself to perfecting his work, testing on striking dummies and live targets alike. As small jobs turned to bigger expeditions, he was one of many who caught the eye of the Scions of the Seventh dawn. Full of wonder and anxiety for the world that recently opened up to him, Lili'a went to the waking sands to enlist.(in progress)Note: Inactive character.
